Saving your email inbox is essential. Indeed, a major technical incident can occur, and in such a case, it is important to be able to restore a backup of the data.
At Ecomail, we have implemented several backups:
This backup is not accessible to users. It allows the restoration of the entire infrastructure and data in the event of a major incident. It is used in the context of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP). We keep 15 versions of this backup in a geographic location different from the production infrastructure.
Email inboxes linked to a "personal" subscription are backed up, in addition to the global backup, on a weekly basis. We export the data over the weekend and store the backup in a geographic location different from the production infrastructure.
This type of backup is reserved for "professional" subscriptions. In addition to the global backup, we export the data once a day, during the night. The data is stored in a geographic location different from the production infrastructure.
From your user area, you have the ability to view the list of available backups. The list also includes additional information such as the location of the backup, its size, and the time required to complete it.
The interface also gives you the option to download the export of your data. They are compatible with the open-source mail server "Stalwart."
Mailboxes linked to a "professional" subscription have the option to manually initiate an individual backup at any time.
Restoring a backup is done upon request to technical support (contact@assistance.vie.eco) by specifying the backup number (#id) to be restored.
